International Anti-Corruption Day is being commemorated at the Viharamahadevi Park today, Wednesday, December 9.
Sri Lanka is commemorating this day under the theme Let’s Defeat The Culture of Corruption. An Anti-Corruption March has been organised at the Viharamahadevi Park today.
The United Nations declared the Day in 2003.
The Minister of Public Administration and Management has organised the ceremony. Secretary to the Minister of Public Administration and Management, J.Dadalage stated:
The previous administration organised a walk along the theme of addressing corruption within the country: but that is why we needed a change.
Meanwhile, the President and the Prime Minister along with a number of non-governmental organisations will join the Anti-Corruption March at Viharamahadevi Park on Wednesday.
