Nawaz Sharif to arrive here next January

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to pay a visit to Sri Lanka next year, a statement issued by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce quoted the Visiting Pakistani Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan as saying. “The impetus to an economic engagement also comes from the fact that Prime Minister Nawaz Shariff is scheduled to begin the new-year 2016 with his first visit, to Colombo. Therefore Minister Bathiudeen and I have lots of work in the few weeks left till his visit to ensure to our leaderships that we can offer substantive steps to formalise and sign at Prime Minister Shariff’s visit. The coming 8-10 weeks therefore are very challenging and exciting for our bilateral trade,” has Khurram Dastgir Khan said. During the visit Pakistani Prime Minister is expected to formalize and sign a revised Pakistan-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (PSFTA), which is expected to deepen the economic and trade relationship between the two countries as well
